New Media Website (fwd)

This site takes a while to download but looks interesting - and seems
quite relevant to our discussions of civil society.

Subject: New Media Website

A recent conference in Amman on "New Media & Change in the Arab World,"
28 February - 1 March, 2002, organized by the Konrad Adenauer
Foundation has spun off a website (http://www.media-arabia.org/) with
copies of the conference papers and a facility for on-line discussion
of media independence, impacts, developments and the prospects for new
media as an agency of change in the Arab World. Bilingual: Arabic &
English.

The site additionally contains links to a selection of on-line media
outlets (but not the Drudge Report) and is part of a project to form an
association for independent media in Arab countries.
