this week's classes

Hello everyone,

As I explained to you before the spring break, Prof. Mounira Charrad from
Sociology will be coming to Tuesday's class to discuss gender and
development and civil society in North Africa - drawing on her extensive
experience and research especially in Tunisia. I have asked her not to
speak long but rather to let you raise questions. I think you will find
this an interesting class. Thursday you should go to the Thompson Center,
Room 2.102 (over near the LBJ School and Library) to hear about
representations of Islam and gender - it should be an excellent session,
and you may also be interested in some of the others.

I'll be thinking of you in Florence - or Tueday, alas, just in the air
from Austin to DFW! - and see you Tuesday the 26th. Happy return from
your spring break - I guess I am being a bit greedy!

Cheers, CH
