Dogs and Cats

Our dogs "Honey" and "Minnie" [Honey]

Honey's mother was a combination of Boxer, Rottweiler, and Doberman. Her father was apparently a yellow Labrador. She is very smart and accompanies us everywhere in the fields and woods. On many occasions she has protected children, adults, and other pets from charging longhorns, attacking dogs, etc.

Minnie won a contest in the Austin newspaper as the fattest dog in Austin. Actually she placed third, but the first two pets were cats. She was rescued from a pound in College Station, and loves to ride in the car and stay in motels.

Our dog Minnie, the world's largest chihuaha, in front of our patron, St. Francis, with Babe, our gigantic pig, asleep in the background by the food trough.

Honey and our two cats: all three are burnt-orange and white, or as close as we could get. The two cats, Magdalen and Grace, were rescued from under a house in New Braunfels just before the animal control people were due to come out. Maggie, the one with the white patches, is the active one, running about the yard and up the trees whenever possible. Grace is the stay-a-home spouse. They love each other very much.

"Honey" and our two previous cats The nearest one is "Tigger" and his brother, on theother side of him, is "Geronimo" (both deceased). They were almost inseparable, except that Geronimo hung around the house and protected us from birds, while Tigger made himself more useful by keeping "varmints" in check in and around the barn. Both of them thought Honey was their mother, but she rarely played the role.
