Heidelberg

picture of the University of Heidelberg

A U. T. student discovers the beautiful, illustrated Diary of Sofia Kovalevskaya, a pioneering female student of math at Heidelberg in 1869. Sofia describes Heidelberg castle (1398-1410), the Palatine library, the medieval bridge, the Holy Ghost church (1398). The U. T. student's own diary follows, with information about Sofia, comparisons of the castle to the U. T. Tower, the medieval bridge to the bridges over Town Lake, and the Palatine Library with the P. C. L.
