WRITE A "BIOGRAPHY" OF AT LEAST 275 WORDS according to the requirements of the animal shelter, including the images and videos in the bio. Substantial bonus points will be awarded for editing the multimedia, especially for adding music etc. (See below for some examples from this class.) . The onsite counselor is the only person who can answer questions about that particular dog. The bios do not have to cover every aspect of the dog as long as his or her personality is captured. So, some of the questions/answers can be left out of the bio. If they seem important, then the student may have to do a followup visit. This is not a first draft, but your best writing. It should be the result of careful proofreading, for this will be published for all to see and animal's fate depends on your writing.

APA Video Guidelines

Thank you so much for helping out the APA Video Marketing Team. There is a high need for videographers, so we really appreciate your help! When making videos, please follow these guidelines:

- Use software that allows videos to be downloaded.

- Please avoid any video-making apps that are only sharable, such as Magisto

- Do not use video apps that involve corporate advertising. APA could lose money from sponsors if unapproved ads show up in their marketing videos.

- Keep the video short and sweet, preferably no longer than 2 minutes.

-Do not use copyrighted music. There's plenty of free royalty-free music that you can download into your music library. Try these sites:

-Include this boiler plate information at the end of each video:

-End each video with the APA logo. You can download it here from Smugmug: http://photos.austinpetsalive.org/AustinPetsAlive/Currentadoptabledogs/i-kX5jcJV

Basic Video Tips for Volunteers & Fosters

- Avoid shooting video in dimly-lit rooms. Pretty green outdoorsy spaces and well-lit rooms are ideal.

- Do not show footage of a dog behaving badly (ie: jumping on people, digging, chewing furniture, etc.)

-Send us more to work with than a short clip of a dog doing virtually nothing.

-Please do not send a multitude (four or more) of short video clips. They take a long time to download and use up a lot of space.

-Try to capture the dog's basic behavioral skills.

-If the dog is good around other animals, please capture that on film!

-Play up the cute factor as much as you can! Videos of dogs dancing, snuggling and cuddling with other pets and kids are big sellers.

-Have fun with it! Get silly and show off how fun and wonderful these APA dogs really are!

Again, thank you for all your help! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at: dog.marketing@austinpetsalive.org
